The JRAI carries reviews of books and films of relevance and interest to a general anthropological audience, including social, biological, and linguistic anthropology as well as archaeology and closely cognate disciplines. We are grateful to receive review copies of books in any of these areas and will commission reviews of works of interest to these audiences where suitable reviewers can be found. In addition to standard reviews of single works, we also commission longer Review Essays of multiple works. We welcome expressions of interest by potential reviewers of listed books and films but reserve the right to assign reviewed works according to the Reviews Editor’s own assessment of suitability. To ensure independence, impartiality, and that reviewed items are appropriate for review within the journal, we do not accept unsolicited reviews, and do not carry reviews of books where the Reviews Editor has not first received review copies for editorial assessment. The JRAI does not have the editorial capacity to fill out individual review request forms.
